PSU Apartments Single Stream Recycling

Campus Edge Apartments is the first Plymouth apartment rentals to offer single stream recycling. We now have more than 11 recycling locations in by PSU in Plymouth and Ashland New Hampshire. We have a single stream recycling containers near your Plymouth State University off campus apartments.

 

Understanding Single Stream Recycling

All allowed recyclables are put in one recycling dumpster. This includes bottles and cans, paper, cardboard and recyclable plastic containers. All other rubbish is put in the non-recycle dumpster. Participation is voluntary but encouraged. If you do not recycle please put your trash in the non-recycling dumpster. Click here for the complete recyclable list.

How Does it Work?

Conveyor belts and sophisticated sorting equipment separate out the different recyclables at a remote facility. See the attached video.

Common Errors

Please empty your bag of recyclables into the recyclable dumpster then throw your bag in the non- recycle dumpster or re-use it. CFL bulbs, batteries, trash bags or containers with food in them are not allowed. If trash is mixed with recyclables the equipment can't sort it out and the entire load may have to be land filled.

Is it working?

Yes. It started slowly but built momentum. Because it is voluntary people who choose not to participate don't have to. Other landlords have copied and started to recycle. We think that s good. In some of our locations more than half of the total trash volume is recyclables. We hope you choose to participate.
